English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
