Selecting the Three Gunners Assets to Choose v Wolves? Fantasy Premier League Lineup of the Gameweek

The major call in this FPL team of the gameweek is to opt for no City players - and yes, even Haaland!

Our budget is required to load up on Gunners assets as they host among the most struggling sides in Premier League recent memory.

It's true, City smashed a total of 5 times on their last away fixture, but this time they face Crystal Palace, who have the second-strongest defensive record in the league for goals allowed and fourth-best in relation of xGC.

And Arsenal hosting Wolverhampton is the sort of encounter you need to target - the leading side in the league against one devoid of momentum, technical ability and self-belief.

This lineup of the week is chosen using current prices to fit within a £100m budget, as if you were using a Free Hit chip.

Performance of The Previous Team Fare?

The captain didn't deliver but high hauls from Bruno Fernandes (eighteen), Ruben Dias (fourteen), Phil Foden (12) and Tarkowski (9), along with a lucky 16-point Dewsbury-Hall bench appearance produced a huge 83 points total. Boom!

FPL Lineup of the Week for Fixture 16

Goalkeeper & Defenders

Roefs, the Black Cats, goalkeeper, £4.7m - Newcastle United (h)

This long-awaited derby in the Premier League for eight years is likely to be noisy, fiery, combative - and it could be one of those games that is all drama but little goalmouth action.

A scenario that would render Roefs, third in the FPL goalkeeper standings, a solid pick.

Ben White, the Gunners, £5.2m - Wolves (h)

An Gunners defensive asset is a must this week. Wolverhampton have one goal on the road so far and one in their last six fixtures.

Ben White is a great offensive threat when he gets his chance. Having started the past two at right-back, registered a 14-point return against the Bees and tops the way in that time among Arsenal defensive players with two key passes, two shots in the box and an expected goal involvement of 0.7.

Cucurella, Chelsea, £6.2m - Everton (home)

Everton are erratic so this selection is focused more on the Blues'defence and Cucurella upside.

Chelsea have the fourth-best defence while he has created more opportunities (19) than any other defensive player in the league.

And he hasn't scored yet, after scoring five times last season.

Dalot, United, £4.4m - Bournemouth (home)

You can't have great hopes for a United clean sheet - they have one this entire campaign - but Bournemouthgoals have slowed down in the last two matches.

Crucially, the Portuguese defender has been getting in some incredibly advanced roles as a wing-back in the past three games.

During that spell he's had 4 shots, two big chances, a goal and an assist. He missed a great opportunity at Wolves on Monday as well.

Midfield

Saka (C), Arsenal, £10.2m - Wolverhampton (h)

This game against Wolves is too juicy to ignore and that makes Bukayo Saka, Arsenaltop attacking player essential.

Little statistical analysis needed to support this pick. United had 27 attempts at Wolves on Monday night, scored four and might have had double that.

The Gunners will be rubbing their hands.

Declan Rice, the Gunners, £7.1m - Wolves (home)

Just a single point behind Bruno Fernandes in the FPL midfielder standings, Rice is incredibly consistent for the Gunners.

With more license to attack this season, he's generated more opportunities than any Gunners teammate (27) and has five assists to his name.

He's also the surest bet for minutes as the manager could see this fixture as a chance to rest his squad.

Fernandes, Manchester United, £9m - Bournemouth (h)

The Portuguese playmaker might have taken over from Antoine Semenyo as the essential Fantasy Premier League midfielder.

Match-up proof, consistently a candidate for defensive contribution points and with multiple routes to points.

Cole Palmer, the Blues, £10.3m - Everton (h)

This gameweek's punt, Palmer has his first full ninety minutes since returning after a lengthy layoff and we are aware what an explosive fantasy player he is capable of being.

You get the feeling that, as quickly as he has a single strong performance, fantasy coaches will be rushing to bring him in.

He missed the Blues'Champions League loss at the Italian side, but that was the club managing his minutes so he should be fresh for Everton.

Ouattara, Brentford, £6m - Leeds (home)

Leeds United come into this match off the back of two great home results against the Blues and the Reds, but on the road they have conceded three times for every one they've netted.

This is probably Ouattara final match before departing for the AFCON.

He has been superb for Brentford this term, and has 5 goal contributions in his past three home matches.

Attack

Thiago, the Bees, £6.9m - Leeds (h)

It has been a disappointing last few gameweeks for Thiago FPL managers, with only 3 points in two games.

However, he's the second-highest top scorer in the division and has seven goals in 7 fixtures at home. He's the top striker choice for this round and, with a favourable run of games, you can select and hold until the January window at least.

Ekitike, the Reds, £8.4m - Brighton (h)

Surely Arne Slot continues to start with the young Frenchman, after his two-goal performance at Leeds.

He was well at the start of the season and you can't help but think what he could have achieved had Alexander Isak not arrived and challenged him for minutes at centre-forward.

Subs' Bench

  • Dubravka, Burnley, £4m - Fulham ({h|home
